Gentle Announcement

Itā€™s finally time to tell you about the project Iā€™ve been dreaming about and working on for years! My new book, Gentle: Rest More, Stress Less, and Live the Life You Actually Want is coming soon. This is my third book and itā€™s available to preorder. If youā€™ve been feeling a little (or a lot) overwhelmed, worn down or just tired of the same tired advice to push through and jump through higher hoops, this book will soothe your soul.

Gentle: Rest More, Stress Less, and Live the Life You Actually Want.

I wrote this book for women who, like me are looking for more support, a better version of self-help and a different definition of success. Most of us have spent too much of our lives being anything but gentle with ourselves or the world around us. Treating ourselves and others gently, creating moments of softness and stillness, is so often viewed as weakness, as giving up.

But the simple fact is: We are worn out. We are tired of pushing through, tired of thinking we have to overdo everything, all the while pretending that we thrive under stress (as a boss I once had loved to remind me). As a result, gentleness has become an absolute imperative. Itā€™s time to create our own rules, new rules, gentle rules.

Instead of trying to become a better version of yourself (again), letā€™s try something new: trust ourselves to be kind, soft and slow in how we treat ourselves and others, how we change our habits and how we live our lives. Fast and furious is out. We are done fighting it and faking it. Itā€™s time to be gentle. Gentle? You might ask. What
is that? Letā€™s start by looking at what it is not and then look at what it actually is:

Gentle is not ā€¦

  • a sacrifice
  • people pleasing
  • giving up
  • pretending that things are perfect
  • ignoring pain in ourselves or in the world

Gentle is ā€¦

  • the antidote to overwhelm
  • an invitation to choose consistency over intensity
  • easing through instead of pushing through
  • creating strength in stillness
  • putting yourself first
  • rejecting the old rules and creating your own

The three seasons of Gentle

Reading this book will guide you through three seasonsā€”Rest, Less, and Rise with 30 challenges and simple practices to help you to radically and (yes)Ā gentlyĀ shift your pace, headspace, and heart. Youā€™ll find a few tiny steps and a permission slip to encourage your progress with each practice. Itā€™s time to find strength in your softness, fierceness in your flexibility, and to finally riseā€”not by pushing through but by connecting with theĀ GentleĀ You, standing in your light and honoring the person you are.Ā
